The Contractor shall furnish all tools, equipment, materials, testing, and qualified labor, personnel, and third parties necessary to design, plan, manage, supervise, and construct the project to replace fire doors at Bazely Tower, Building 10182 on Kadena AFB, Okinawa. Fire doors are located on the balcony of each unit leading into a stairwell for means of escape during emergency. Fire doors are currently deteriorated and rusted closed causing a life safety hazard if not able to open during an emergency. Work includes providing a design to remove and abate LBP paint from the door and frames, recycle metal and install new fire doors meeting the latest life safety code requirements. Host nation materials approved that are tested and listed to meet IAW UFC 3-600-01, G-5 are allowed. All components of the required system shall meet codes, JIS listed materials are acceptable. Units may be occupied during renovation, and plan must allow for secondary means of egress in case of emergency per code requirements. The Contractor shall determine the best technical design solution in conformance with current codes and regulations, not specifically stated elsewhere in this project statement of work to provide a complete and useable facility upon completion. Items replaced shall be new and of equivalent or superior standards and meet all current code requirements.
