The 718th Civil Engineering Squadron (718 CES) has identified a potential need for an innovative Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning(HVAC) solution on Kadena Air Base that can meet stringent dehumidification and temperature control requirements utilizing a simple, low maintenance energy recovery system to perform reheat duties for the relative humidity and temperature control process. The Government anticipates a need for this energy recovery-based recirculating air handling unit (ER-AHU) HVAC solution in a facility that requires strict temperature and relative humidity control, utilizing AHUs that combine fresh air with recirculated return air and provide supply air that is both dew point temperature and dry bulb temperature controlled.
