F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter - Propulsion Initial Spares and Non-Annual Sustainment
The F-35 Joint Program Office intends to award a sole source contract to RTX Corporation, Pratt & Whitney Military Engines in East Hartford, CT, for F-135 depot lay-in material, initial spares, site and depot activation support, and new propulsion sustainment requirements. Pratt & Whitney is the original designer and manufacturer of the F135 Propulsion System and the only source with the necessary technical expertise and unrestricted data access. Contract awards for this scope are anticipated to begin in 2027. No budget amount has been specified in the notice. This is not a request for competitive proposals, and the government reserves the right to proceed on a sole source basis.
