: GCSS-Army has a requirement for IBM Hardware Maintenance Agreements (HWMA) and Software Maintenance Agreements (SWMA), Virtual Storage Center (VSC) Software (SW), and Red Hat maintenance in support of IBM Equipment. GCSS-Army requires a maintenance agreement. In addition, the vendor will ensure that Information Assurance and Data Compliance policies are adhered to and that servers are running optimally and kept updated at required security technical implementation guidelines (STIG) levels. A STIG is a cybersecurity methodology for standardizing security protocols within networks, servers, computers, and logical designs to enhance overall security. Patches are required to keep the systems compliant and operational. IBM equipment being maintained includes: Flash System 900s used for storing Enterprise Resource Planning data. Storage Area Network Volume Controllers used to fulfill extract, transform, and load capabilities while storing data within the GCSS-Army application. Tape Library used to increase storage capacity without increasing frame size or required floor space. In addition to maintenance for the IBM equipment, GCSS-Army requires Red Hat maintenance for running Red Hat Enterprise Linux on IBM Power for Systems Applications and Products High Performance Analytical Appliances.
