(U) “Virginia Contracting Activity (VACA) is publishing this notice and Request for Information in accordance with 6.302-5(b)(7), Sole Source Awards Under the [Woman Owned Small Business Program] will satisfy Agency requirements. VACA has awarded the requirment to provide cleared/uncleared sign language interpreting and reading services to comply with Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, in Title V, Section 501, which provides for reasonable accomodations for employees with a disability, and in Title V, Section 504, which provides that no individual with a disability shall, solely because of the disability, solely because of the disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of, any Federal program or program receiving Federal financial assistance. MAF Interpreting, Inc is a WOSB that has proven to be uniquely qualified to provide these services to DIA EO based on the fact that they have the lagest nationwide cleared staff that possess the minimum qualifications of five (5) years and required national certifications by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or National Association for the Deaf (NAD). The award is for base year and 4 option years. (U) This notification alerts all vendors to this planned action. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether competition is viable. Responses to this notice should be submitted to the Contracting Officer, within 15 days from the date of this notice. No phone calls will be accepted in regards to this posting.”
