The National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) requires the delivery of a Large Format Slide Scanner with the following functionalities and specifications: System: Large Format Slide Scanner - Includes three slide holder trays with choice of configuration - Up to twelve 1x3” slides or six 2x3” slides, or one large slide up to 6x8” - <1 minute scan for most slides - Ability to scan and clearly capture images through thick slide cover slips between 0.7 to 1.2 mm. - Ability to accommodate scanned slides up to 6x8” of irregular size slides glass with non-standard thickness cover slip. - Up to 40x magnification with 0.75 numerical aperture (na) - Z-Stack Scanning - Barcode reader - One year warranty ? Onsite installation and training ? Computer and Monitor: - Monitor minimum 24 inches - Resolution: 2560x1440 with 2560 Pixels maximum vertical resolution - CPU: Intel Xeon W-2255 CPU @ 3.7ghz - RAM: 256 GB - Windows 10 or 11 Operating System - Storage 1 TB pc C drive, external or additional drive minimum 175 TB ? Shipping, Handling & One Year Warranty The system needs to have the following capabilities: - Ability to image in Brightfield Mode - Accommodate slide Formats: o 25mm x 75mm (1x3”) o 50mm x 75mm (2x3”) o Any slide up to 150mm x 200mm (6x8”) - Optical Resolution 0.75 NA - Resolution (ìm/pixel): o Minimum of 0.2 at 40X o Minimum of 0.4 at 20X - Scan Speed <1 minute per slide 2 @ 15mm x 15mm @ 20X magnification - File Formats: o Non-proprietary 24-bit RGB pyramidal BigTIFF o Uncompressed, JPEG or JPEG2000 compression o Export to JPEG, Flat TIFF and LZW compressed TIFF This equipment will be used to provide scanning capability for slide-based collections in general but specifically for large format slides with thick cover and base plates.
