The Breast Milk Refrigerator is an electrically operated unit primarily used in the Neonatal Intensive Care and in the Perinatal Specialty Care Units. This equipment is a critical requirement in support of patient care. The refrigerator is used to store breast milk, which is patient specific, at required temperatures that prevent it from spoiling. Un-refrigerated breast milk is only usable if it has been in room temperature for a duration of less than 4 hours (without refrigeration). If left un-refrigerated for a duration longer than 4 hours the milk will be spoiled and not safe for consumption creating a patient safety concern. Please see SOW and Combined Synopsis for more information and required specs.
