Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence
The action is a bridge contract for the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence Clinical Affairs, Dissemination, Research, and Mission Support, supporting the Military Health System, Defense Health Agency, and Department of War. It covers education, training, clinical support tools, clinical recommendations, and research on brain injury and warfighter brain health, with TBI described as the most common injury in current theater operations such as Operation Epic Fury. The bridge prevents a work stoppage that would disrupt pre-deployment brain injury and brain health training for providers, line leaders, service members, and families. The requirement was executed as a sole-source contract with incumbent General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). The work aligns with senior DHA and War leadership priorities, impacts clinical and operational communities, and uses contractor SMEs across 40 taxonomies to support force readiness, TBI prevention, assessment, care, and return to duty.
