DFAS Infrastructure Services require this procurement for the implementation of Layer2 VLAN capabilities within the DFAS ELAN-SE. TACLANE Layer 2 Agile VLAN is an optional software feature that enables a specific group of devices to communicate as though they were directly connected regardless of their location. VLAN-enabled TACLANEs use frame encapsulation to encrypt different protocols, such as IP/VLAN-tagged/Ethernet/MPLS, providing the capability to send and receive HAIPE/Layer 2 traffic simultaneously on a perpacket basis without any infrastructure changes. This project will capitalize upon the connectivity advantages of the NIPR MPLS environment.
