This requirement is for the myPay implemented Two Factor Authentication (2FA) in accordance with DoD Instruction 8520.02 and Interim Digital Authentication Guidelines for Unclassified and Secret Classified DoD Networks and Information Systems dated August 20, 2018. This process utilizes SmartDocs to deliver SMS text messages to the end user with a token that allows the user to access their myPay account and provides a second level of protection to prevent unauthorized access to myPay accounts. Currently, there are mobile carriers that treat these SMS message as spam and do not deliver the critical token to the end user. To ensure delivery of all text messages, DFAS needs a comprehensive, global solution that ensures successful delivery of SMS text messages and ensures business communication is more efficient and effective.
