The contract modification to extend the contract for 6 months will allow for continuity of services while the follow-on requirement is being re-competed. Due to the nature and complexity of this requirement, only the incumbent can provide the continued support services needed while the agency works towards awarding a competitive contract for DCPS support. The incumbent contractor already has the organization in place to provide these services immediately and without any additional cost or transition time. Finally, the services are needed on an ongoing basis to support DFAS and any delay would critically impact DFAS’s ability to meet its mission, support other DoD agencies, and support the warfighter. The period of performance for this requirement is 01 MAR 2021 – 30 SEPT 2021.
