This contract is for the research, writing, and revision of manuscript chapters for publication in Volume XIII of the Secretaries of Defense Historical Series, which will cover the period 1993 through 1997. The Contractor shall work in coordination with a co-author to perform research in published literature and unclassified and classified primary source material, including records of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and other DoD elements, material from Presidential libraries and various U.S. Government agencies, and manuscript and archival material from private repositories. As directed by the Chief Historian, the contractor may also edit and revise manuscript chapters of other volumes in the Secretaries of Defense Historical Series. The Contractor shall conduct oral history interviews as necessary, prepare draft chapters, preface, and bibliography based on this research?including endnotes and applicable tables, charts, photographs and captions?and review and incorporate as necessary editorial comments on previously drafted chapters.
