The Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate (WHS/AD), intends to incorporate the use of FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services, and extend the term of contract HQ003423P0134 for an additional six months. On September 22, 2022, the Government awarded a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract for one 12-month Base Period and one 12-month Option Period to Kadiak, LLC (Kadiak) as a sole source 8(a) direct award. The current contract ends September 25, 2024. The approval of the use of a FAR 52.217-8 extension will prevent a lapse in service and ensure continuity of operations, while OIG realigns their requirements for this mission and a new requirement is competed. This action is authorized under provisions of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(b)(1)(ii), “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements”.
