The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy (ODASD(E)) oversees Department of Defense (DoD) programs related to installation energy, operational energy, and the cybersecurity of facility related control systems. The mission of ODASD(E) is to sustain warfighting readiness and lethality by providing all energy-related policy and governance for programs and activities that enable resilient, efficient, and cyber-secure energy for Joint forces, weapon systems, and installations. Focus areas include: Installation Energy, or ensuring the availability of resilient, reliable, and cost effective energy to heat, cool and power permanent installations; Operational Energy, or ensuring the delivery of energy required for training, moving, and sustaining military forces and weapons platforms; Facility-Related Control Systems Cybersecurity, or ensuring control systems are cyber secure to enhance readiness and mission assurance; and Energy Risk, or the assessment of energy risks to our forces, weapons platforms and installations to inform resourcing and policy decisions.
