The attached justification authorizes the extension of services, exercising clause FAR 52.217-8, under existing contract HHM402-19-F-0049, with Sawdey Solution Services, for up to a full period of six (6) months, broken into a three (3) month base and a three (3) month option. The contract being extended is to provide assistance to the USEUCOM's NIFC and JAC office in form of facilities and logistics, program management, and administrative support until a new contract, which will result from an active solicitation, is awarded. The extension is in accordance with statutory authority 10 USC 2304(d)(1)(B) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B) which provides, for DoD, NASA, and the Coast Guard, services may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of follow-on contracts for the continued provision of highly specialized services when it is likely that award to any other source would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements.
