The Literate Brain: Developing Pedagogical Content Knowledge in the Science of Reading & Writing (Grades PK-5)
The Department of War Education Activity seeks a commercial contractor to deliver a comprehensive, evidence-based professional learning program titled “The Literate Brain,” focused on the Science of Reading and Writing for grades PK–5. The training aims to strengthen pedagogical content knowledge for educators, school-based leaders, instructional support specialists, and headquarters subject matter experts, bridging cognitive science research and classroom practice. The program will support transitioning the school system from balanced literacy models to an integrated, research-based literacy framework. All requirements, deliverables, performance standards, and quotation instructions are detailed in the attached solicitation documents and Performance Work Statement. An amendment has been issued to incorporate vendor questions and answers into the solicitation, with all other terms remaining unchanged.
