The Agency has a requirement to purchase ovens with safety features required for a secure, reliable and efficient system to include lines, drain, frames, shelves, water softener, and the disappearing safety door feature. Based on current market research, dated 12 Dec 2019, it has been determined to continue with the standardization project for all DoDEA-Europe facilities and purchase the Convotherm Brand Ovens. In reviewing historical acquisition information, internet sources, manufacturer’s catalog, and contact with knowledgeable people in Government, such as the AFFES Kitchen Manager and DoDEA Outfitting personnel, the Convotherm Brand is the only one that includes the required disappearing door safety feature. As a result, four potential sources can provide and install the Convotherm Brand.
