DoDEA requires seat-based licenses for online high school courses for grades 7-12 students in order to supplement courses offered through the Virtual High School during the school year and summer and to support blended learning opportunities in DoDEA’s brick-and-mortar classrooms. DoDEA requires all online courses to have the following characteristics: Be taught by DoDEA teachers. Be equivalent to either a one-semester or two-semester unit. Be accessible via Single Sign On (SSO) through DoDEA’s LMS. Be vendor-hosted and delivered to students through DoDEA’s LMS or hosted directly on DoDEA’s LMS. Have rolling start dates for the school year and summer sessions. Note: Rolling dates are necessary to accommodate the different school year calendars of our US and overseas schools. Base of three years and three, one year option periods.
