Description of type of work – Tunneling/Earthwork: Drill and blast tunnels with diameters ranging from 5ft. to 30ft and lengths ranging from 50ft. – 800ft; may be D shape or circular profile; may include vent shafts; may require shotcrete and rock bolt portal; may require shotcrete tunnel liner with welded wire fabric and rock bolts; may include installation of steel sets; may require excavation of overburden to specified elevation (overburden may be relatively thin, down to 15 ft.); be required to provide tunnel rescue teams per OSHA and adequate ventilation; may be required to bore holes from tunnel to the surface; may require drilling of instrumentation holes in the tunnel liner; may be required to perform LIDAR surveys of both the tunnel and the surface excavation; excavation may be required to be within 6” of theoretical profile.
