USSOCOM is conducting market research to assess industry capability for spiral development, engineering services, and production of a SOF-peculiar munition, specifically Group 1 and/or Group 2 Unmanned Aerial Systems launched from the Common Launch Tube. This is not a request for proposal, and no contract will result from this notice. The government seeks white papers detailing experience with Agile practices, manufacturing maturity, and systems compatible with Modular Open Systems Approach and Weapon Open Systems Architecture. Key performance requirements include air launch from SOF fixed-wing platforms, a munition weight not-to-exceed 55 pounds, a range of at least 75 nautical miles, and a loiter time of 40 minutes. A Rough Order of Magnitude estimate is requested for a single demonstration on an AC-130J or similar platform, with white papers accepted for 30 days after the notice's posting date.
