The Defense Health Agency intends to sole-source the NextSeq 1000 Sequencing System and extended warranty from Illumina, Inc., as it is the only source capable of meeting the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System's DNA analysis mission. The system enables rapid sequencing of targeted panels, whole mitochondrial genomes, and SNP analysis in a single run. The extended warranty will begin after the 12-month manufacturer warranty expires. Performance of services will be at the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System DNA Operations. Capability statements are due by 09:00 AM EST on 13 July 2026.
