SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Computer Navigator NSN 5826-01-667-5541, Part Number 011-01066-00. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Computer Navigator is a System used on the Air Force UH-1N helicopter. The aircraft is used for support of the Presidential Mission. The Computer Navigator is located in the center of the instrumental panel, receives GPS, Navigation, Communication, Weather, and Traffic Alerts from various systems and antennas located on the UH-1N helicopter. The unit has a wide area augmentation system GPS engine used for primary domestic, oceanic, and remote navigation including enroute, terminal, and non-precision approaches with vertical guidance. The Computer Navigator can simultaneously give pilots vital approach information, weather and traffic data in relation to their position on a large, color moving map display. The Color Moving Map includes a complete Jeppesen Database that can be updated with a Front-Loading Data Card. It is coupled with traffic, lightening detection, and weather interfaces. The Computer Navigator also includes an airborne VHF Communications Transceiver and a VOR/localizer and Glideslope. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Aero Dynamix Inc. (CAGE Code 01FX2), The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Aero Dynamix Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the Computer Navigator is the only known source with parts on hand, in addition to propriety required technical data needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Aero Dynamix for the purchase of the Computer Navigator in support of the UH-1N helicopter program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than ( 04/04/2024 ) to Kiem Tarpley via kiem.tarpley@us.af.mil and/or ( buyer/Nathan Bergert via nathan.bergert@us.af.mil ) The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
