Description FBO Post Title: Synopsis 1680-99-213-1688MH, REAR ACTUATOR, P/N: MBEU205146-1 SUBJECT: This requirement is for spare support procurement of the Electro-Mechanical Linear Actuator (NSN 1680-99-213-1688MH, P/N MBEU205146). This component support the T-38C Ejection Seat and is a critical part of the functionality of the seat This is a One Time Procurement effort in support of to the T-38 fleet. The current projections for the T-38 ESUP item is for a Period of Performance of one year. The following table depicts requirement quantities below: NSN 1680-99-213-1688MH, P/N: MBEU205146, QTY: 10 EA ITEM DESCRIPTION The Rear Actuator allows the aircrew to adjust the seat height to the correct position before flight on the T-38C Ejection Seat. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION: The current original equipment manufacturer for these items is Martin Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd. (CAGE U1604), which maintains its configuration by part number and configuration control. The Government either does not own any data/drawings/schematics or has limited rights which indicate an inability to release data for competitive solicitation. As a result, Martin Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the Rear Actuator’s performance requirements and has possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce these items and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Martin Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd. for the manufacture of the Rear Actuator in support of the T-38C Ejection Seat.
