SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Data Link Printer, NSN: 7025014900096UC, Part Number: 8055515-4501. ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Data Link Printer is a system used on the Air Force C-5 Aircraft. This aircraft is used for transporting equipment and supporting the Air Force’s missions. The Data Link printer is a high performance, thermal line printer used to print messages and report logs and uplink messages in the DataLink Communications subsystem. The printer is located in the center console to provide accessibility for the pilot, co-pilot and observer. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is AstroNova Aerospace (CAGE 54318), which maintains its data and repair. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, AstroNova Aerospace is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the Data Link Printer’s performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST: The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to AstroNova Aerospace (CAGE 54318) for the manufacture of the Data Link Printer, NSN: 7025014900096UC in support of the C-5 program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than February 22, 2024 by emailing nathan.bergert@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
