SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Screw Drive Flow Control Valve Assembly, NSN 4810008909349UC, PN 75500-305. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Screw Drive Flow Control Valve is part of the Pitch Trim Actuator used on the Air Force C-5 Galaxy heavy lift transport aircraft. This item controls the flow of hydraulic fluid to the screw drive motor and the screw drive hydraulic brake. The motor causes the screw to turn in the commanded direction, causing the screw drive motor to turn and adjust the pitch attitude of the horizontal stabilizer. The hydraulic brake locks the screw in position so it cannot be moved without command. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Parker Aerospace (CAGE 82106), which maintains its configuration by part number (75500-305). The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Parker Aerospace is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the Screw Drive Flow Control Valve Assembly requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Parker Aerospace for the manufacture of the Screw Drive Flow Control Valve Assembly in support of the C-5 program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than Insert SSS closing date by emailing insert your name and email address todd.stimus@us.af.mil and/or dla.dlr.proc@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
