The U.S. Air Force is conducting sources-sought market research to identify potential sources for a B-52 electrical solenoid spares procurement (NSN 5945-01-185-2945TP, P/N 783539-1), with performance at Tinker AFB, OK 73145. The effort would require new manufacture, including component procurement/manufacture, inspection, testing, preservation/packaging, and shipping, and may also involve supply chain management, logistics planning, forecasting, long-lead part procurement, and diminishing manufacturing source/material shortage support. The estimated spares requirement is 62 units, with unit prices to be established at contract award and potential nonrecurring engineering costs for becoming an approved source. The government is interested in all business types and will use this research to determine whether the requirement can be competitive or a Small Business Set-Aside, and it may consider breaking the requirement out by airframe. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal, and no contract award will be made from this market research.
