The Air Force Research Laboratory is seeking proposals to design, develop, build, test, and deliver a flight-qualified, strategic-grade, radiation-hardened Compact Strategic Gyroscope (CSG) for integration into the SPARROW Inertial Measurement Unit. The anticipated total funding for this effort is $27.2 million, with a total contract period of performance of 51 months. Performance will require contractor access to classified information up to the TOP SECRET level, and no foreign nationals will be considered. The effort will culminate in the delivery of qualified hardware and a complete Technical Data Package to enable future government-led procurement. This is a two-step process beginning with a white paper submission, and the government anticipates awarding one or more contracts.
