NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT ACTION AFNWC/PZNK intends to solicit and award a single source firm fixed price purchase order to EaglePicher Technologies, LLC. This purchase is for commercial items and will be made using other than full and open competition authorized pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b). AFNWC/NDS needs to purchase 52 Thermal Battery Part# EAP-12241B from the original manufacturer under the same batch used in Lot 2 production contract of the B61-12 Tail Kit Assembly (TKA) Control Actuation System (CAS) for shelf life testing. Shelf life testing will be used for surveillance, reliability, and sustainment of the B61-12. The batteries shall be from the same Lot that will be installed on the War Reserve TKA for the B61-12 or else any data collected from shelf life testing is invalid if other thermal battery are to be used. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposals (RFP) nor does it restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will not reimburse firms for any costs associated with preparing or submitting a response to this notice.
