The Air Force has a requirement for the purchase of 12 sodium nickel battery modules to replace the existing battery modules. In addition, one 200-amp power inverter and 27 additional electrical outlets are required for the building. Contractor must remove and dispose of existing lead-acid batteries, provide Ethernet remote monitoring capabilities, remove and dispose of existing power inverters and purchase and install replacement power inverters, and purchase and install overhead electrical outlets located in the areas of the batteries and inverters. Critical requirement to be met is that the battery system be 48 volts and provide 5 hours of power at the 120 amp maximum load. Batteries must meet the following requirements: • Cycling Capability: 4.500 cycles (80% DOD) • Battery energy density 100÷120Wh/kg, 150-190Wh/lt • Shelf life (> 20 years) • Temperature Immunity (-40 ÷ +60°C) • No gas emissions • No flammable materials • No fire/water flood reaction • 100% recyclable • NO pollution materials • NO gas emissions Power inverters must be one 200-amp and one 100-amp for the two required power inverters for the building. Electrical outlets are to be 115V, 60 Hertz power.
