Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold AFB, TN has a requirement to provide two pressure-measurement devices to be used as instrumentation for high-speed wind tunnel testing and aerodynamic research with accuracy and logistical improvements over existing systems at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The devices must measure a quantity of 64 and 16 discrete pressures, each in a compact, electronically-scanned unit (module). One device, a 64-port scanner, must have 32 ports that measure absolute pressure with 25 psi full-scale range and 32 ports measuring absolute pressure with 5 psi full-scale range. The other device, a 16-port scanner, requires 16 ports with 5 psia full-scale range. Both modules must be temperature-compensated for use at Tunnel D conditions (-20ºF to 170ºF), must communicate directly with a data acquisition computer via Ethernet, and must supply precision time-referenced data using IEEE 1588 (PTP) time protocol.
