The Air Force Life Cycle Materiel Command, Aerospace Management Division, Weather Contracting, AFLCMC/HBAK, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731, awarded a sole source contract to EWR Radar Systems, Inc. on 24 January 2020. The contract awarded was a Firm Fixed Price contract with a contract value of $20,705,290.08, including options. This contract will have a thirty-six (36) month performance period for the production of Portable Doppler Radar systems. The place of contract performance will be at the facilities of EWR Radar Systems, Inc. in St. Louis, MO. The award resulted from the negotiation with only one source, in accordance with 10 U.S.C. § 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, “only one (1) responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” An AFLCMC Ombudsman has been appointed to consider and facilitate the resolution of concerns from offerors, potential offerors, and others for this acquisition. Before consulting the Ombudsman, concerned parties should first address their concerns, issues, disagreements, and/or recommendation to the Contracting Officer for resolution. In addition, AFFARS 5352.201-9101, Ombudsman, will be included in this acquisition's solicitation and contract.
