Trusted and Elastic Military Platforms and Electronic Warfare (EW) System Technologies (TEMPEST)
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RYW) seeks to develop methodologies, tools, and capabilities to identify and mitigate cyber vulnerabilities in avionics systems, protect against cyber-attack, and advance sensor, simulation, and open architecture technologies for current and next-generation weapon systems. The work involves exploring new concepts in cybersecurity, open system architecture, novel avionics, and multi-domain technologies. Avionics is broadly defined to include manned, unmanned, autonomous, and remotely piloted vehicles, as well as ISR systems, Electronic Warfare systems, munitions, and related components. The performance location and budget information are not specified in this description.
