The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, ISR & SOF Directorate, Special Warfare Program Office is seeking possible sources capable of providing a CRRC Outboard Motor (OE). The current Guardian Angel weapon system relies on CRRC outboard motors nearing end of service life that no longer fully meet Personnel Recovery mission requirements and increase mission risk, including limiting rough-seas operations in certain geographic locations and weather conditions. Modern EPA-compliant 4-stroke replacement outboard motors may have decreased horsepower and increased unit weight, reducing operational capability and aerial delivery mission flexibility. The program lacks a viable replacement that restores full operational capability and provides GA personnel with a reliable, effective CRRC system for all operational environments; additional details and response instructions are in the attachment.
