Throughout the Air Force, a lack of mobile Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS COV-2) testing platforms has led to a gap in on-site, rapid response testing capabilities in locations not supported by a traditional laboratory. The current system of utilizing “mail out” reference labs causes a delay in obtaining results that can vary from 2-7 days. In locations where local testing sites may be limited, Airmen entering training, deploying, or awaiting a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) can be forced to spend 10-14 days in Restriction of Movement (ROM) status prior to proceeding. The following requirement shall address the aforementioned testing gap. Please see attached for additional information.
