Off-Axis Parabolic Mirrors
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is conducting market research on behalf of AFIT for a contractor to manufacture and deliver 66 customized off-axis parabolic (OAP) mirrors with protected-gold coating services for the Extreme Light Laboratory’s ultra-intense laser experiments. The mirrors must use 30 mm fused-silica substrates with a 45-degree parabolic focus, <1 nm RMS surface roughness, 20-10 scratch/dig, polished backsides, and protected-gold coating with at least 97% average reflectivity at 780 ± 40 nm and 45-degree incidence. The contractor would be responsible for all labor, materials, manufacturing, quality testing and inspection documentation, packaging, and shipping to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Delivery would be required within 98 calendar days after receipt of order, and the mirrors must be free from defects for at least two years after Government receipt.
