The contract includes a 12-month base ordering period and four 12-month option periods, with a best estimated quantity of 20 units per period. The required service involves the inspection, evaluation, repair, and testing of the component. This action will be competed among a limited number of responsible sources, as market research indicates only a few possess the requisite capabilities. The formal Request for Proposal will be issued directly to the sources identified during that research.
