See the attached Techinal Data Package and the Aprroved GFP. The Air Force has a requirement for the overhaul of C-5 Nose Landing Gear Door Right Angle Gearboxes. National Stock Numbers (NSN) 1680-01-159-9590 UC and 1680-01-159-9591UC; Part Numbers 177370-2 and 177380-2. This Market Research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and overhaul of the nose landing gear door gearboxes for the C-5 Aircraft. These gearboxes are used on the Air Force (AF) C-5 nose landing gear door actuation mechanism and provide a change in direction of torque that is required to operate the nose landing gear doors. There are two (2) of each gearbox per aircraft. This item will be used on the C-5 aircraft until the expected aircraft retirement in 2038. This overhaul effort will utilize a Requirements Type contract. Contract period of performance will be ten (10) years. This a Small Business Set-Aside.
