Please see associated Justification and Approval (J&A) and signatures attached. Geospatial Intelligence, or GEOINT, is the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information to describe, assess, and visually depict physical features and geographically referenced activities on the earth. The Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Field Support (DGFS) services, support the sustainment of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems used in the PCPAD (planning and direction, collection, processing and exploitation, analysis and production, and dissemination) process. AF DCGS presently operates on a Legacy Platform (GB4.X and older) which is site based and reliant on stove-piped, closed architecture systems. AF DCGS is in the process of transitioning from a DCGS Legacy Platform to an Open Architecture Platform which leverages centralized support/services for GEOINT systems. GFS will support the transition from Legacy to the OA Platform across the Period of Performance (PoP). OA DCGS is an Information Technology (IT)-based, distributed ISR weapon system that interconnects platforms, sensors, and Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (PED) crews to provide critical intelligence to the warfighter and national mission partners. It is designed to provide intelligence information across the entirety of the AF ISR enterprise using a structured, agile approach. The new OA DCGS Platform will provide the baseline Hardware (HW), enterprise Software (SW), and services for the weapon system applications to run on. GFS shall maintain and sustain GEOINT SW applications (Apps) to include Crew Comm, GB4X, and other systems across the applicable DCGS GEOINT Sites.
