The C-17 Program Office at Robins AFB, GA has a requirement for a firm-fixed price contract for seven (7) each NSN: 4920-01-656-1382BA, Strut Repack Stands, Nose Landing Gear, P/N 17G130495-1, which includes one First Article and six production assets, one First Article Test Plan, one First Article Test Report, and one IUID Marking Plan. This requirement also includes three annual options with a quantity of 1-3 each. During the life cycle of the C-17 aircraft, repairs to the nose landing gear shock strut assembly will be necessary. These repairs include replacing the bearing packings. Before this maintenance takes place, the piston assembly is removed from the nose landing gear assembly and positioned on a wheel chock. Use of the wheel chock necessitates technicians work at a floor level instead of at a comfortable waist level. The shock strut must also be lifted by the technician each time a component is removed from or placed on the strut. Lifting the strut from the floor level repeatedly can cause injury to the technician. The nose landing gear piston contains four gallons of hydraulic fluid. This fluid is spilled during piston removal and placement on the chock as a result of the piston’s orientation when placed on the wheel chock. A means is required at the intermediate and depot levels of maintenance to support the piston assembly as it is being repacked. The means must be ergonomical and allow the technician to work at waist level. The means shall also mitigate loss of hydraulic fluid. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Offerors shall prepare their proposals in accordance with the mandatory, explicit, and detailed instructions contained in the RFQ. All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal to be considered by the contracting agency. The Government will utilize the Past Performance Information Retrieval System (PPIRS), Excluded Parties List System (EPLS), and other Government databases to determine contractor status before evaluating proposals. Proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria stated in the RFQ. All data for this weapon system is considered EXPORT CONTROLLED.
