REPAIR OF THE RECEIVER TRANSMITTERS, APPLICABLE TO THE LIGHTWEIGHT AIRBORNE RECOVERY SYSTEM (LARS).
This requirement covers repair services for three Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) of the Lightweight Airborne Recovery System (LARS) used on A-10, HC-130J, HH-60G, and HC-130P/N aircraft. The LARS R/T is a critical search and rescue component with UHF voice communication and ranging capabilities. Cubic Secure Communications, LLC is the sole qualified source as the OEM with proprietary data rights, and the government lacks the technical data for competitive repair. The anticipated contract is a Firm Fixed Price / Indefinite Delivery Requirements contract with a one base year plus four one-year ordering periods, potentially extending one year beyond the final order. A performance-based work statement and Quality Assessment Surveillance Plan will be used.
