The government is conducting market research via an RFI to identify sources capable of sustaining engineering, repairability, and maintainability support for the modified WC-130J RTP APN-241 Weather Radar. Required capabilities include reliability/maintainability and obsolete-parts/DMS studies, failure-trend analysis from depot and field shops, radar installation and troubleshooting, access to Northrop Grumman equipment/databases, and support for MC-130J CR-2M developmental testing including real-time rain-rate detection verification. The effort includes engineering support during developmental testing not to exceed 400 man-hours and on-site support at Eglin AFB for two engineers across three 5-day trips. The anticipated acquisition strategy is a 2-year contract plus a 6-month extension option beginning in FY27 through FY29, and the government anticipates a sole-source award to Northrop Grumman Corporation in Beavercreek Township, OH.
