ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: Department of the Air Force (DAF) has a requirement to conduct an engineering baseline and first article fabrication of major sub-assemblies within the U-1 Foil assembly. The intent of this effort is to develop the tools, techniques, and documentation necessary to fabricate repeatable and inter-operable future U-1 Foil assembly fleet units. The scope of this effort will not be to fabricate the U-1 Foil assembly in its entirety but will be limited to reverse engineering multiple Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) sub-assemblies of the U-1 Foil assembly and referencing Government Furnished Information (GFI) legacy drawings and models. The United States Government (USG) is not seeking to upgrade the U-1 Foils but rather to build an exact copy of the existing assemblies and manufacturing. In addition to this reverse engineering effort, the vendor will provide two major deliverables: 1) A single assembly of a first article foil as described in the SOO. This is not a complete U-1C Foil, but portion the vendor is responsible as defined in the SOO. 2) Technical Data Package comprised of production level SolidWorks models and drawings, geometric capture data, metallurgical analysis data, relevant specifications, tooling, and full manufacturing instructions. USG shall have unlimited data rights.
