The vendor shall build custom torque tools tha... *This is a sole source solicitation. * The United States Air Force has a requirement for two (2) vertical tail fitting tapered bolt torques for the F-35. The vendor shall build custom torque tools that are integrated with a lifting device to position and hold the torque tool during the install and removal of lug bolts without the mechanic applying the counter torque. The current method is 30-mins torque draw-ups per bolt with an average of 80 torque ratchet repetitions. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. The capability statement must provide a clear methodology and demonstrate how the following will be met: Build custom torque tool that is integrated with a lifting device to position and hold the torque tool during the install and removal of lug bolts without the mechanic applying the counter torque. Any response must be sent and received by the response date and time of this notice to be reviewed. There will be an acknowledgement of receipt provided for all submissions received.
