The contractor will provide assistance to the Government for the planning documentation for the D3 of the MMIII weapon system in support of the GBSD weapon system. The GBSD program is the largest recapitalization program in the AF's nuclear enterprise and is one of the top 4 acquisition programs in the service. As the current plans of the GBSD effort include re-using MMIII Launch Facility (LF) and Launch Control Center (LCC) infrastructure, it is critical to the success of the GBSD program that MMIII assets are deactivated and removed prior to the scheduled need date for the GBSD installation to continue. Due to the many potential conflicts and continued MMIII operational needs, the AF requires contractor support to ensure that all MMIII and GBSD interests are accounted for. Work will be in areas such as the schedule integration, logistics management, transition planning, hazardous material handling, system safety, and configuration management.
