This Request for Information is not a solicitation and no contract will be awarded from it. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Hill Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify commercial trailer manufacturers capable of producing a modified COTS semi-trailer for transporting sensitive government cargo. The Government is assessing whether to adapt a proven commercial refrigerated/insulated freight trailer design as a lower-cost alternative to a full Engineering & Manufacturing Development program and is seeking feedback on requirements such as large side-access cargo doors, floor reinforcement for concentrated loads, hazardous-chemical-compatible interior liners, and exterior-accessible atmospheric sampling ports. Interested parties should review the attached Performance Work Statement and respondent instructions and provide formal written responses addressing all listed questions to help determine technical feasibility and finalize the acquisition strategy. The Government may conduct site visits to interested manufacturers’ facilities as part of this market research.
