AFLCMC/EBHJC is seeking sources interested in becoming qualified to manufacture the MJU-68/B Infrared Countermeasure Flare (NSN 1370-01-592-9246). Prospective sources must demonstrate the experience and capability to manufacture the flare, and drawings are available upon request. This announcement is an expression of interest and does not commit the Government to pay proposal preparation costs. The flare is approximately 1.5" x 1.54" x 10" with an aluminum case and gross weight of about 1.66 lbs, and it is dispensed from an AN/ALE-47 dispenser with a compatible magazine. It has no electrical connections and uses a BBU-35 or CCU-145 impulse cartridge to eject and ignite the flare, with one-amp/one-watt no-fire and 4.25-watt all-fire requirements.
