The Hatch Severance Assembly (HSA) is used in the B-2 aircraft to sever the canopy prior to pilot ejection. Each HSA consists of a linear shaped charge (LSC) and loaded manifold assemblies. TLX lines are used to initiate the LSCs. Once initiated, the LSCs cut the canopy creating holes for the crew to egress through during an ejection. Sole Source: Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense
