The purpose of the follow on IDIQ contract is to maintain continuous depot level contractor services by replacing the current contract set to expire 5 Mar 2020. The P5CTS consists of the Airborne Subsystem (AS), or "Pod", and the Ground Subsystem (GS), which can be fixed, transportable, or portable, auxiliary equipment (e.g. umbilicals, weights, A-10 adapter, boot flash modules) and peculiar support equipment. The ground support (GS) encompasses live monitor, training debrief stations, associated network equipment and support equipment. The P5CTS provides precise time-space-position information (TSPI), mission reconstruction, post-mission debriefing of air crews and other weapon systems operators, and an interactive training environment with air defense threats and simulated ordnance exchanges.

The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to solicit a proposal for the eventual procurement of items and services unique to the P5 Combat Training System (P5CTS) for the USAF and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302-1. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT OR SUBMIT PROPOSALS. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED CONTRACT BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLEY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT.
