This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. Description of Intent: The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside, and by identifying contracting and subcontracting opportunities. While the main intent of this sources sought synopsis is to find potential sources for the sale of the item below, the Government is also interested in identifying vendors interested in reverse-engineering this part. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 326299 which has a corresponding size standard of 500. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. Program Details: The Government anticipates the establishment of a Firm Fixed Price contract to procure Raceway Cable Electrical Boots covering multiple NSN’s, for the U.S. Air Force. The NSN’s anticipated under this Firm Fixed Price contract are: 5975-00-239-9366 and 5935-00-460-1151. These items are Electrical Boots and Caps used on the Minuteman III ICBM Weapon System. Electrical Boot “Boot, J1 & J2 Conn” part number 57339-507-1, NSN 5975-00-239-9366 is to be made IAW drawing 57339-507 CAGE 94756 Rev B dated 8-Sep-1971. Electrical Cap “Cap, Electrical Connector, Stage 3, J3” part number 57333-507-1, NSN 5935-00-460-1151, is to be made IAW drawing 57333-507 CAGE 94756 Rev A dated 12-Sep-1968. The Electrical Boots and Caps are injection molded silicone rubber Hardness Critical Items that protect cable connections on the Raceway Cable Assembly. The government owns rights to the data. Suppliers will need to have or obtain the required clearance level to review the technical data and manufacture these items IAW the drawings.
