The... The engineering services sustains the Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) used to generate Automated Form F (AFF). Forms F must be generated prior to each flight to ensure safety of flight. The Department of Defense (DoD) utilizes a Microsoft (MS) window-based software tool, the Automated Form F (AFF), to automate weight and balance calculations. The AFF uses data from weight and balance technical orders to automate the generation of flight clearance Form Fs. AWBS software significantly reduces the chances of error in calculations and ensures the aircraft will stay within safety limits throughout duration of flight and any ground operations.
